Background
PyConUS is the largest annual gathering for the Python programming community, organized by the Python Software Foundation (PSF). It serves as a hub for developers, enthusiasts, and organizations from around the world to connect, learn, and share knowledge about Python. Launched in October 2024, this was the fourth PyConUS we worked on.
Challenge
The conference chair aims to spotlight the local charm of Pittsburgh by incorporating its rich culture, vibrant colors, and dynamic elements that celebrate the city’s unique character. Drawing inspiration from the beloved children’s show Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, which originated in Pittsburgh, the design will embody warmth, creativity, and a sense of community, much like the city itself.
Solution
With talents from Tunisia, illustrator Malek Jerbi and UX/UI designer Hamza Haj Taieb, we brought their creative flair to the project, blending vibrant colors and lively illustrations into a cohesive masterpiece. The website came to life with playful characters, each representing people from diverse walks of life, making it as dynamic and inclusive as the community it represents. The logo, remaining print designs, social media assets and swag was designed by Georgi Ker in the meantime.
