Background

PyCon US is the largest annual gathering of the Python programming community, organized by the Python Software Foundation (PSF). It serves as a global hub for developers, enthusiasts, and organizations to connect, learn, and collaborate around Python. In 2022, we had the opportunity to take on the PyCon US project for the first time.

Challenge

The 2022 PyCon US was held in Utah, and the conference chair envisioned a design that celebrated the state’s stunning snow-capped mountain landscapes while reflecting her love for retro, old-school aesthetics.

Solution

We partnered with the Thai design agency Mad Arai-D to craft a series of designs. These combined the grandeur of Utah’s iconic mountains with a nostalgic retro theme, seamlessly blending natural landscape and vintage charm. The result was a unique and visually striking representation of the conference’s location and the chair’s vision.
